Ike and Eddie Sr. start their mercantile to help family finances and name it “Bashas’.” The store is located in a cotton-growing community south of Chandler. The store was originally founded in 1916 by Goodyear Tire, but passed through several hands since. One of Goodyear’s trucks left behind served as an early delivery vehicle.
