It is this type of caring and service that has kept me a loyal customer for more than 50 years.

Over forty years ago my family and I lived in Chandler near Williams Field Road and Alma School Rd. The closest grocery was Bashas’ at Alma School and Ray Road. We didn’t have a car so when we needed groceries I loaded the kids into a Radio Flyer and walked to the store, stocked up on groceries, arranged the bags around the kids in the wagon and walked home. When the staff at the store realized we were on foot, they would often give us a ride home. I can’t tell you how much that meant to us. My kids still talk about it and the surprise treats that showed up in the grocery bags when I unpacked them! Fast forward 10 years. My grandson was born in 1979 and was allergic to every standard baby formula on the market. He was losing weight steadily and his doctors were at their wits’ end . A new pediatrician suggested we try something new on the market, Alimentum formula. Alimentum was not a stock item and there wasn’t a store in Chandler (or anywhere else we could find) that had even heard of it, much less carried it. I mentioned our dilemma to our Bashas’ store manager. Not only did he find a source for the formula, he immediately ordered a case of it so it was available for us to purchase in less than 48 hours! He kept ordering it for nearly two years afterwards to be sure we didn’t run out. It is this type of caring and service that has kept me a loyal customer for more than 50 years. -Carol C.
